Paintings, photographs, sculptures, and works on paper by 38 contemporary artists will be on view at the galleries of the American Academy of Arts and Letters from Thursday, March 8, through Sunday, April 15, 2012.

Exhibiting artists were chosen from a pool of 175 artists nominated by members of the Academy. Participating artists are eligible to have paintings or works on paper purchased and donated to an American museum through the Academy's Hassam, Speicher, Betts, and Symons Purchase Fund, or to receive one of nince awards, which include five Arts and Letters Awards in Art, the Jimmy Ernst Award, the Award of Merit Medal, the Willard L. Metcalf Award, and the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award. More information about these awards can be found here.
